Accommodation

The house has been our holiday home for over 18 years and is comfortable  and  more than adequate for up to a maximum of 6 people

Locrio is a small hamlet of nearly a dozen stone built houses, mostly 200+ years old and about 10 miles west of Pontivy, just off the D2 road to Persquen – in the middle of the countryside, very quiet and rural. A small river - the Sarre is close by and children under 14 can fish without a permit.

Our friend and neighbour Madam Christine Kerbellec looks after the house and is always available for any problems that may occur or just to help you brush up on your french!

The cottage is suitable for young families or older people, ideal for touring or just chilling out, but older teenagers may find the setting too rural, with the nearest night life (disco/nightclub etc) being a 15 minute drive away in Pontivy.  Saying this it is still an excellent area for bike riding, fishing in the local river, and exploring the pine forest - a short walk down a track towards the rear of the house.  There is also the English TV in the living room which will allow teenagers to play any games consoles they might have or watch DVD's.

Main Cottage

Kitchen/diner – dining table/chairs, gas cooker, fridge/freezer, electric grill, microwave, electric kettle, iron and ironing board, and plenty of kitchen units with pots, pans, cutlery, glasses etc

Lounge -2 settees plus easy chair, French TV, English TV with DVD and Video player, Radio/cassette/cd player, night storage heater, coffee table etc.  Some books, DVD’s and videos.  We are currently hoping to install a satellite dish and decoder to enable our guests to watch UK free view channels which will include all the BBC and ITV channels later this year.

Upstairs (stairs are steep so take extra care)

A double bedroom with w/c and a twin bedded room, electric heater and air conditioner.  Adequate storage –wardrobes, vanity units and chest of drawers.

Annexe

A twin bedded room plus w/c and shower (gas water heater), washing machine and electric heater

Adequate storage –wardrobes, vanity units and chest of drawers.

Outside

Patio with Barbeque, table and chairs and small lawn enclosed by a Cyprus hedge.

Plenty of parking and the road outside the cottage is quite quiet, other than traffic to the neighbours and the local farm.

There is a garage with some bicycles although they are getting old! There are also two half sets of golf clubs with a reasonable 9 hole course – Golfe de Rimaison - about 6 miles away towards St Nicholas. More clubs can be hired.

Linen

Duvets and pillows are provided although linen (sheets, duvet covers and pillowcases) must be provided by guests.  There is the possibility of linen being provided for a small charge (to cover cleaning costs) so please feel free to ask if you would prefer to hire linen.

Guests are requested to bring their own towels.

Lastly we use the cottage regularly so ask visitors to look after it as they would their own home and replace any breakages. Any food stuffs (non perishable) are left for the next occupant and we also always ensure that there is a good stock of beers and wine ready for the next thirsty occupant, so please take full advantage but replace these essential items before you leave!

There is a large wheelie bin opposite the garage for rubbish which is emptied on Tuesday.
